It was everything we wanted. A beautiful view without a bunch of extras. The room provided us with a fridge, ability to make coffee, and adequate living space. Not to mention the incredible patio onto beach location. We loved it. Owner is pleasant enough, but a Thai business woman, she ll say what you want to hear. We did our own thing and it was perfect! Price was outstanding.

Aree Beach Resort is our own paradise on earth and it was the third time to stay there. It s simple. We love the calmness, the beach with the coconut trees, but most of all the wonderful staff who help making our stay so much more.

War im April 2012 im Aree Beach Resort. Hatte einen Seaview Bungalow. Schönes großes Zimmer mit Blick zum Meer, und Terrasse mit Tisch , Stühlen und Liege vorm Bungalow. Die Bungalows liegen in einer Gartenanlage direkt am Strand. Am Strand sind viele Bäume, so dass man den ganzen Tag genügend Schatten hat. Es sind ausreichend Liegen am Strand vorhanden. Freundliches Personal und Management. Ruhige Lage im Norden von Lamai Beach. Für Partytouristen vielleicht etwas zu ruhig, zu Fuß etwa 15-20 Minuten ins Zentrum von Lamai, zum entspannen aber ideal. Das Meer an dieser Stelle ist recht flach, daher zum schwimmen nicht ideal, aber für Familien mit kleinen Kindern aus dem selben Grund sicher gut geeignet. Alles in allen empfehlenswert, würde dort wieder buchen.

Wir waren zwei Personen in einem Bungalow. Der Raum war hell und sauber.Die Besitzer freundlich und auch interessiert an unserer Zufriedenheit. Die Angestellten alle sehr, sehr nett und immer mit einem wohlwollenden Lächeln. Das Frühstück wurde uns jeden Morgen auf unserem Sitzplatz serviert. Es gefiel uns sehr gut. Da und dort sollte vielleicht mal eine Reparatur gemacht werden, ich denke, das wird wohl in der flauen Zeit erledigt.- Der Standort ist nahe am Meer, vom Bett ins Wasser! Die Stadt ist gut zu Fuss erreichbar.-Nachteilig ist die Lagune, die in der Nähe ins Meer greift und bei hohem Wasser nicht mehr überschritten werden kann! So ist der Strandspaziergang nicht immer möglich.-

Very nice and clean bungalows. The resort was wunderful. The owner is super cute and helpfully. Suitable for singles and for families. Location is top. Everything is in the near and by foot reachable (Resteraunts,7Eleven, marketplace, shopping, Massage and so forth). The view to the sea from the bungalows is amazing. We had a lovely beachfront bungalow and we really enjoy our stay. Clean and nice. We water was no good for swiming but just a short walk it was ok. Quiet and nice place at north part of Lamai and just a 15 min walk in to center/shopping. The staff was very friendly and helpful and we will stay at Aree next time we visit Samui!

Good location just on the north end of Lamai, 10 minutes walking to the beach road with all shops, restaurants and bars. Very helpful staff, speaks Thai, German and English.

For me it was the perfect place to stay. The Resort was like I expected it from the information I get from the booking site. It was away from the noisy tourist center but not far to walk to restaurants, shops, etc. The owners and personal are very friendly. Dear Aree & Helmut, thank you again for the pleasant stay!

Room was nice, couple who run the place a little odd. Not rude but not particularly helpful or friendly. He is very nice but she got touchy when we had to cancel a night and got touchy about bike late fee

Good place to stay with great value for money. Super nice staff. It s a little walking distance to the center but doable. German manager who is very eager to help and keep everything in shape. We will definitely go again!

Wer Ruhe und Meerrauschen liebt, ist hier genau richtig! Bademöglichkeit ist bei Ebbe teilweise eingeschränkt, aber 5 min weiter am Strand wieder gut. Kann die Anlage unbedingt weiterempfehlen.

The hotel is good. I mean it s nor super, but it s not bad. We were in beach front villa, location is perfect, but it need renovation. The sea was good only after 16 00... before this time we couldn t swim at all :( we rent a motobike and every day went for swimming to different beaches, which were better, then Lamai (Bang Por, Maenam) But the stuff of the hotel is very friendly! And it was great to seat in a chair in the evening...in front of the sea...

simple not fussy or over the top, literally on the beach. service was excellent aree and her army of house staff were always on hand willing and able always with a smile no matter what trouble we kept coming up with. close enough to lamai town to enjoy but just far enough down the beach to be peacefull. lamai is definitly superior to chaweng all the bustle without the hassle. The food is excellent and if your at a lost end at daft o clock in the morning try chom lay 24 hr restaurant the food is brilliant no matter what time of day or night you are there (the shrimp cake is the best ever and the mantis shrimp are superb!) 2 weeks just was not even remotly enough!

fantastic place. never had a problem there. very good price for a nice room. and most important, it was safe. the manegment and the stuff was very friendly and trustfull and i had a great time there. located direct on the Beach. to swimm you have to walk a little bit but perfect for snorkeling when is no low tide.

This is a really great choice, great value, you can get a cabin right on the beach, the beach is quite compared to south lamai, and you can walk a bit south to find great swimming.

It was a beautiful place. We felt well ourself. The owner and the staff was very friendly and helpful. On the beach you should wear boots, but on the lower side of the bank you can swim without them. If you go about 200 metres on the sea, you can see colorful fishes. We will come back next year!

Wir waren zwei Wochen da und wohnten in einem Seaside Bungalow. Wir haben schon viele Fernreisen unternommen, aber bei Aree und Helmuth war es am allerschönsten. Falls irgendwelche Mängel auftreten, behebt Helmuth diese. Wir haben ihn als sehr freundlichen und klugen Gastgeber kennen- und schätzen gelernt. Das Resort ist sehr familiär geführt. Täglich wird die Bettwäsche ausgetauscht, die Handtücher gewechselt und 2 Wasserflaschen in den Kühlschrank gestellt. Die tailändischen Bedieneteten sind immer freundlich und hilfsbereit. Man kann vor dem Hotel direkt nicht schwimmen wegen des vorgelagerten Riffs, aber die wunderschöne Aussicht, die ruhige Gemütlichkeit und die schattenspendenen Bäume machen dies mehr als wett. Wer alles etwas locker sieht und sich in die tailändische Mentalität einfindet, wird den Urlaub dort in vollen Zügen genießen. Wir gehen auf ale Fälle nächstes Jahr wieder hin. we really enjoyed our stay in the aree beach resort. the rooms are clean (they are daily cleaned) and the service is very nice. the bungalows are located in the north of lamai-beach, where it is quiet and not crowded. if you want to have a relaxed residence in koh samui, an ideal place for it.

Un posto molto tranquillo il bello : la stanza beach front a pochi metri dal mare quindi ti addormenti e svegli con il rumore del mare. Il brutto è che il mare in quella parte di Lamai è verametne brutto quindi devi spostarti, le stanze non erano belle o nuove ma funzionali aria condizionata tv e frigobar, clientela totalmente tedesca, il proprietario non il massimo della socialità ma una persona perbene

I found the hotel to be only average in every way. My room was not what I anticipated from the photos that I had viewed on the website. My sea view was pitiful and I was disapointed. The manager was also not keen to discuss my dilema! The staff were friendly though. For the record my opinion is 2/5.

After a 10 hour journey from Bangkok Aree Beach Resort was just what we were looking for. Our room was bright and clean and the A/C was a constant refreshment. The staff were all really helpful and friendly and our room was cleaned everyday with fresh linen and towels provided. We were right on the beach front which felt like our own private little strip. It s about a 5-10 min walk into the main resort area which was managable. We had a fantastic stay here and would definately recommend it to everyone.

Sawadee.com was very easy to use although our transfer from the main pier to take us to Aree Beach Resort never showed up so we had to pay to get ourselves there.

Could I speak more highly of this place? I doubt it. Helmut and his wife and the whole staff were great, the bungalows were clean and well-equipped, and the ambiance was splendid. I spent a few weeks with the beach outside of my window - a great way to start the day (or the afternoon, since you can spend your evenings in nearby Lamai or a-bit-further-away Chaweng if you so desire). Aree Resort was clean, quiet, and filled with travelers from other countries. The travelers seemed to be family-types and older than your standard lager-happy merrymakers, so the mood was mellow. I would highly recommend this place and will stay there again next time I am fortunate enough to be in Samui.

Wonderful place. Very peaceful, friendly and just nice. Walking distance from the city; right on the seashore. The staff was very helpful and the manager was personally making sure we enjoyed the stay. The only negative thing was the sea. Stones and coral reefs, impossible to get in without shoes, but we bought the shoes in the city (sold virtually everywhere 200bt or so) and enjoyed snorkling after that. Overall, i recommend this place to everybody.

Haben fuer drei Naechte das Aree Beach Resort gebucht. Der Strand, das Zimmer (Beachfront) und die familiaere Atmosphaere, hat uns so gut gefallen, dass wir auf insgesamt acht Naechte verlaengert haben. Eines der netten Zimmermaedchen hat sogar fuer ein kleines Entgeld an einem Abend fuer vier Stunden auf unsere Kleinen aufgepasst, damit wir mal einen freien Abend fuer uns hatten. Wer Ruhe sucht, aber doch innert 10 Minuten zu Fuss am Leben von Lamai teilnehmen will, dem kann ich mit gutem Gewissen dieses kleine Resort empfehlen.

What a great resort, clean, quiet, very friendly, free safety deposit, and right on the beach which was perfect. It was a birthday treat for my husband and the owner even arrange Flowers and Beer for our arrival. Perfect location with some really cheap Food stalls and only 10 mins from Lamai Central. Would definately stay there again and already recommending to friends, thanks to Helmut and staff for making our stay perfect.
